50 YEARS AGO TODAY a man, a warrior, a soldier for peace delivered a speech that would forever change the course of the world. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a person who've I've admired as long as I can remember, stood on the mall in Washington, D.C. and sent a ripple of peace throughout the nation. A nation divided my racism and hate instantly began to shift with hope of living in harmony. We have come far and we have so much further to go, but thank you Dr. King for your light, your wisdom, your strength, your vision, your courage, your words, your actions, your voice, your will, your dedication, your compassion, your peace, your love. You will forever be remembered. You will forever be cherished for your unforgettable contribution.
In dedication to Dr. King's speech, I had the pleasure of participating with an incredible project called "We Are Still Marching." The project highlights different people from around the country reciting the words of the "I HAVE A DREAM" speech. Being that Dr. King has always been my biggest inspiration and I use to practice this speech all the time in high school, it was an honor to lend my voice to this project.
