J Dilla Tribute

What's up People...so I have definitely been on the move. But before leaving New York a couple weeks ago I had an opportunity to do a video shoot for a song called "King James," which is dedicated to one of the greatest of all times, J Dilla... My guy Warren Oliver, director and owner of SoloProject, decided he wanted to do something for JayDee, so he sent me one of Dilla's gems, I recorded it in the Chi, and after touching down in NY we shot the video, along with Chris Velona, in the subways of New York. I had a ball doing the shoot, but more importantly, it was an honor to be able to remember the Greatness of the Man we call Dilla...

J. Ivy on Garrard McClendon Live

In case you missed it, I had the opportunity of performing and interviewing on CL-TV's Garrard McClendon Live! I truly had an amazing time kicking off Black History Month at the WGN studios. And if that wasn't enough, the old Bozo Show studio was right up the hall. Wow, back down memory lane... Special shout out to Jerry Riles and Lynneisha. Thank you all for the love! "Black History, Black Future!"

History In The Making

Well the 1st month of the new decade ended on a good note. I had a great time performing at the Shrine with Lupe the other day and last night I had a fun performance with Lee Farmer and the Maurice Fitzgerald Experience at the Joynt. I'm looking forward to the next month, the next moment that I'm able to share my gift. Until then, let's be reminded that "History can't be confined to one month, because History is made each and every day..."
