The GO! Experiment

Live from FakeShoreDrive.com... Twone Gabz + Teefa + Sulaiman + The Rocketeers + Mike 100s + Vic Mensah + Mic Terror + J. Ivy

Thanks to all of the artists who participated, Jay iLLa for spinning, Dave Jeff for hosting, the blogs/websites for posting, Casey Bohrnell for filming, Cory @ Leaders for letting us take over his store, and Drew and Raphael for having me get down on the project. It was a lot of fun putting together and watching come to life. The energy in the room the day The GO! Experiment was filmed was like nothing I could describe in words, but it was very memorable. Those that were there know.

The GO! Experiment 2 coming this Spring. Any artists, DJs, sponsors, venues, looking to get down on Part 2 please hit me up.

Hope you enjoyed. Until next time. Fin.

Biggie Smalls is the Illest

I can't believe one of the greatest to ever do fell 13 years ago today. While we might not always agree on the content of his work, no one painted pictures the way he did. He took you there. Thru his music he loaned you his set of eyes and took you on an adventure like no other. He was a true Poet, Storyteller, MC, and entertainer. Notorious B.I.G....We Miss YOU!! GOD Bless YOU!!!Photobucket

FakeShoreDrive Sighting

This was posted by Andrew Barber on www.FakeShoreDrive.com...Good looking!! This past weekend, while in NYC, I was able to check out Damon Dash's DD172 and Creative Control compound in TriBeCa. I linked with J. Ivy (who was also in NYC) and lens-masters Coodie & Chike to check out this one-of-a-kind art gallery/recording studio/video production house/hipster haven.

I'd read a few articles on Dame Dash's latest experiment in hip-hop and needless to say I was intrigued. A four-story compound in one of the ritziest areas in Manhattan, where artists come and go and create at their own leisure? Say word? Entertainers such as Mos Def, Curren$y, Jay Electronica and The Cool Kids drop by to cut tracks, film videos and just hang out? And Ski Beatz is the in-house producer? This can't be life.

Here we have some video footage from inside DD172, featuring J. Ivy, Dame Dash and Ski Beatz. Later in the clip I've included a preview of the upcoming collaboration from J, Mikkey Halsted and Twone Gabz, which is set to be featured on J's upcoming project, which he previewed in the studio for everyone.

Dame's a cool guy and this place is ridiculous, so I hope it's able to thrive.

303!!!

"In the year of '03 my Bday was 03.03.03, which adds up to 9,I turned 27...2 and 7 is 9, So what that times is that I'm in line, I'm apart of the timeline. Then the year was '04. 03.03.04 is 10, I turned 28...2 and 8 is 10, in the alphabet "J" is 10, I win again... Now the year is 2010, 03.03.10 is 7, I turn 34...3 and 4 is 7, I one step closer to heaven, I'm apart of the math, It ain't hard to figure out if you learned how the add, the good and the bad to get balance, despite the challenge..."

Deep I know, but one better, on this day (March 3rd) there are 303 days left in the year...it's a reason for the season. And I truly, TRULY thank GOD for allowing be this moment called LIFE. It's been such an amazing journey so far and I look forward to the next steps, the next breaths. Yes I'm BLESSED!! I am the proud Son of James Ivy Richardson Sr. and Pamela Richardson aka Lady P. Before passing my Father was a radio personality. Before retiring my Mother was a registered nurse. So naturally it's easy to see that GOD wanted me to use my voice to help heal people. I truly love my gifts. My gifts being my LOVING Parents, my AMAZING, AMAZING Angel of a Wife, my Brothers, my Family, my Friends, my Thoughts that flow onto the Page, my many, many Inspirations, who daily push me to keep going...I LOVEEEE YOU ALL!! This year feels even more special than the rest. YES, I'm thankful for another year, but my understanding for Life continues to grow and grow. I think by nature Pisces can be self-centered. Yes I'll admit it, but as time goes by, I find myself wanting to give more and more. I was put here, we were all put here, during this historic era for a reason and I'm excited about playing my part even harder. Yes, the enemy is busy. Yes I've had to fight off demons, depressions, laziness, discouragement, disbelief, insecurities, devils and leeches that pose as friends, but I will continue to fight everyday for what is rightfully mine. This is my LIFE!! and I will cherish every single moment so I can be and become what GOD intended his Child to become. The GREATEST TO EVER DO IT...and it's all in HIS NAME. I am just an instrument. Yes is a celebration, but as far as 303? Hmmm...303 means GOD's with ME!!!"In the year of '03 my Bday was 03.03.03, which adds up to 9, I turned 27...2 and 7 is 9, So what that times is that I'm in line, I'm apart of the timeline. J Dilla Tribute

What's up People...so I have definitely been on the move. But before leaving New York a couple weeks ago I had an opportunity to do a video shoot for a song called "King James," which is dedicated to one of the greatest of all times, J Dilla... My guy Warren Oliver, director and owner of SoloProject, decided he wanted to do something for JayDee, so he sent me one of Dilla's gems, I recorded it in the Chi, and after touching down in NY we shot the video, along with Chris Velona, in the subways of New York. I had a ball doing the shoot, but more importantly, it was an honor to be able to remember the Greatness of the Man we call Dilla...

The Latest...

Time truly flies when you're having fun. I can't believe that it's already March. Time for the Bday!!! Pisces in the house...it's definitely time to celebrate. After closing out a very busy Black History Month I'm really looking forward to March. But it wouldn't be right if I didn't shout out my people over at Hampton Elementary and Harlan High School for inviting me out to perform for their students. Also I want to send a very special shout out to Minister Farrakhan, Wyclef Jean, Raheem DeVaughn, Khari Lemuel, Yaw, Phenom, Kenny Beatbox, and everyone else that I jammed out with at The Saviour's Day Dinner. We're all living in a very special time and I'm honored to be apart of it. I'm on to the next one...

Much Love Julian H.S.!!

Today I headed over to visit Julian High School to speak to their broadcasting students. To my surprise they prepared a set, where I was filmed and interviewed by their very own Ms. Shevita Shaw. Shevita, who actually gave one of my favorite interviews to date, questioned me on my beginnings, on what's happening now, where I draw my inspiration from, and what's next. She truly is a natural...Oprah, watch out!! The students and staff showed me a tremendous amount of love and I was more than pleased by my visit. Thanks for the love Julian!! I look forward to seeing where life takes you guys...

Happy Monday!

I just wanted to say Happy Monday to everyone...I'm feeling good. I had a very productive weekend. Saturday, I finished up a record called "Never Give Up" for my guy Promise up in Toronto. The joint came out hot and I'm looking forward to his album coming out. Be sure to check for that. Also, I had an opportunity to host the 2010 Academic Decathlon at Whitney Young Magnet High School. Congrats to the host for winning the overall competition. On Sunday, I closed out the weekend with some studio work with Phil G., Tony Baines, and Tarrey Torae, for Phil G.'s upcoming album...HOT!! After the studio, I had an impromptu performance at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. Shout out to Pastor Jenkins...back to work!! Have a Blessed One...

Latest & Greatest

What's up World!! It's been a busy week so far. Monday's "Chicago's House of Hope" was absolutely amazing. 10,000 people showed up to support and raise money for the people of Haiti. It truly warmed my heart to see our people come together for a much needed cause. It was also great to be apart of event where I had a chance to perform a new song called "Hold On" along with Tarrey Torae. Not to mention that Common, Lala Hathaway, Lee England Jr., Shirley Ceasar, Karen Clark Sheards, Bobby Jones, George Wilbourn, Damon Williams, and others did their thang!! Very special shout out to Pastor Jenkins, Rev. Meeks, and everyone who took part in organizing the event. From there it was off to Virginia. The airports were down, so I hoped on the road, fought through a blizzard and made it safely to Lexington, VA. There I had a chance to rock for Washington & Lee University. And when I say they showed love...MAN!!! Thanks W&L...Love yall much. And can't wait to come back...see yall next year.

Now, I'm off to New York...stay tuned!!
